The Informed Millionaire Mindset

Welcome to the beginning of a new week. This topic is informed by my encounter during my training last Saturday.

I have often seen that our educational system teaches how to get the best grade at School and work in one of the best industry or so it seems. The missing link in our educational institution is that they do not teach practicals, they do not show how to make success, they do not show you the way. They teach you how to read, memorise and pass your exams.

The world has changed, and all you need to be successful is follow trends. At a time, it was the oil age, then came the computer age and now its the e-age.  Most people who are not ready for change in trend will find themselves in a wrong direction, before they realise it.  No matter how comfortable your job is,  you must have at least 4 streams of income to be successful.

In the society where we are today, recession has become a new language. There is no job security, and there is the need to acquire extra skills in case your are tired of your job, or you are fired or you are retired. In achieving or failing on the above, I have seen two classes of people; The informed millionaire and the uninformed millionaire mindset;

Last Saturday, I got a call from a University Worker who wanted my organisation to train his Association of Non Academic workers on Grass Cutter and Fish Farming. He specifically told me that he does not want his members to start going to do odd jobs after retirement. And so they need the skills.

Same day, I was training one of my student (I will henceforth refer to him as Mr. X) on one-on-one training on web designing, hosting and domain registration when my old school time friend walked into my office. My student, Mr. X works with an expatriate company, but believe in acquiring skills. He is informed about securing his future. He knows there no job security. He is an accountant by profession and work with his certificate with his present company. He knows how to and where to spend his money. And that is in building his skill, his intellect and creating more money with his money.

Then came my old time friend, who works with an oil servicing company. He asked what the guy was doing and discussions started. He did not see any reason why any one should acquire more skills, aside his work. To him, he has a secured job, and he can have all the fun in this life. When we started discussing about using social networking site as  facebook, he said he does not have time for facebook or his email as his work starts while he is driving to office.

And to my surprise, he came with his wife of 8 years along with another lady. As the discussion went on, next thing I head him saying was that he was looking for a place where he can go and relax with his wife and another of my friend to take some bottles of beer with his wife… Hmm off they zoomed to the beer joint while I continued my training with my studnet.

This is a typical scenario we see daily. Anyone that is thinking right can use his spare time, weekend time to make more money. My friend is not informed.

What about you? Do you use your time for pleasures today instead of using it to secure your tomorrow? No matter how your job is secured, you will need to keep extra source(s) of income.You must pay sacrifices today to enjoy your retirement.

A time will come when you can no longer wake up and go to that job where you are today. What will you fall back to. You will need to secure your future.

The Informed millionaire use his money to attract more money, while the un-informed mi llionaire mindset use his money for parties and frivolities. The informed millionaire learn skills and secure his future, the un-informed millionaire gets paid for a job he does without thinking entrepreneurially.

My friend has got all the opportunity to use the money he is being paid today to make more money, secure his future.

next thing was his askingay
